StoryTime AI creates personalised, illustrated bedtime stories for children. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Because our service is made for families, we hold ourselves to a high standard when it comes to children's data.

Account information: your email address and sign-in details, handled by Google Firebase Authentication. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from your Google account.

Child profile information (provided by you): a first name or nickname, an age range, and story preferences such as favourite settings, companions and colours. We only ever need a first name — please don't enter surnames or other identifying details.

Generated content: the stories, illustrations and quiz results created in your account, so you can return to them.

We use this information solely to generate and save personalised stories, illustrations, narration and quizzes for your family, and to operate your account. Story preferences are sent to our AI providers (such as OpenAI for text and image/voice generation partners) only as needed to create your stories. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use children's data for advertising.

Your account data, child profiles and stories are stored in Google Firebase (Firestore). Access is restricted so that only your signed-in account can read your family's data.

We use Vercel Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without identifying anyone, and Microsoft Clarity, which records how pages are used — scrolling, clicks, and where people get stuck — so we can find and fix the confusing parts.

Clarity is set to hide the pages where family information appears. On the child profiles page, the story quiz, the story reader and your saved stories, every piece of text is blanked out before anything leaves your browser, so we can see that a button was pressed but never a child's name, a story, or anything you typed. Neither tool is used for advertising, and we do not sell data to anyone.

Under UK GDPR you can access, correct, export or delete your data at any time, including everything associated with a child profile. You can delete your account yourself from the child profiles page — scroll to the bottom and choose “Delete my account”. That removes every child profile and every story immediately, and cancels any subscription. For anything else, or if you would rather we did it for you, contact us at the email below.

StoryTime AI accounts are created and managed by adults. Children use the service under a parent's, guardian's or teacher's account and cannot create accounts themselves.
